Coach Dan

Coach Dan Speaks:

Half burpies are an effective exercise to improve explosive power and overall athleticism in basketball. By incorporating this exercise into your training routine, you can enhance your vertical jump, agility, and quickness on the court. To perform half burpies, start by dropping down into a push-up position with your hands placed slightly wider than shoulder-width apart. Lower your chest towards the ground, maintaining a straight back and engaged core. Then, explosively bring your legs forward and underneath your body, landing in a squatting position. From the squat, drive through your heels and stand up, extending your hips and knees. To make the exercise more challenging, you can add a jump or reach overhead at the end of the movement.
