Coach Dan

Coach Dan Speaks:

Basketball shooting drills are essential for basketball players of all levels. One such drill is the Lane Agility Drill which tests an athlete’s agility, coordination and speed. To start this drill, the player must move off the start/finish line in a sprint for 19 feet, cut to the right and shuffle for 16 feet, run backwards for 19 feet then cut to the left and shuffle for 16 feet. Once they reach their starting point, they must reverse this process until they reach the start/finish line yet again. This basketball drill works on a player’s ability to make quick changes in direction while simultaneously remaining balanced throughout their movements. By regularly executing this basketball drill, athletes will improve on agility and shooting fundamentals while gaining control over basketball specific movements.
